The Titans are back in action. After a couple weeks off, your Titans were working hard on the gym and field to bring you some action in this spring semester. As basketball continues into midseason, softball and baseball start their seasons in early February.

The men’s basketball team started the new year off right, with a 77-54 win over Calumet College of St. Joseph. They fell to Saint Xavier University Jan. 8 with a close score of 79-76, but came back with two more wins on their home court against Saint Ambrose University Jan. 11, 91-73, and Judson University Jan. 15, 97-67.
The Titans hit the road to Holy Cross College just across town today, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
“The season has been up and down, full of hard times and good times, and I am hoping for more good times. I believe more opportunities will come for us to be able to show who we are as a team and we will be able to win our conference,” guard Deshon Burnett said. “For my senior year I feel it is going pretty good, I just want to do whatever I can to help the team out.”
The women’s team has also been putting in a lot of work this season. They were back in action Jan. 4, and they, too, started the year off with a sweeping win over Lawrence Tech, 103-58. Following that on the road to Saint Xavier University, they secured another win with a score of 80-67. On their home court Jan. 11 and 15, the women Titans came out with two more wins against Saint Ambrose University, 65-62, and Judson University, 91-55.
They are also back in action today, Jan. 22, at Holy Cross at 5:30 p.m. Leading the Titans this season has been Senior Tenleigh Phelps, who is currently averaging about 20 points a game. Following not too far behind her is Senior Jazmen Watts, bringing an average of about 14 points a game. With those two together, the Titans seem to be unbeatable this season. With only two losses in their whole season, the Titans look to continue an outstanding season.
