Student Life solicits students to join focus groups

In the following weeks, Titan Productions and the Student Government Association will hold focus groups for students to give their opinions and suggestions for campus events. The Office of Student Life hopes to use this feedback to help create more effective and engaging events for students. Attendees will be encouraged to fill out a feedback survey after the focus group. To attend a focus group on Jan. 28, Feb. 12 or Feb. 20, scan the QR code.
Jurors needed for Notre Dame mock trial

On Feb. 15 and 16, Notre Dame Law School is hosting final mock trials for the Spring Intensive Trial Advocacy course. They are looking for mock jurors to participate. Each trial will take place at the St. Joseph County Courthouse in downtown South Bend and run from 9 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m.
Jurors are advised to arrive before 9 a.m. so the trial can start on time. Jurors will be compensated with a $75 Amazon gift card for their time. Scan the QR code to fill out the Google form if you are interested!
IU South Bend honors MLK award recipients

On Jan. 20, IU South Bend held its seventh Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Award ceremony, recognizing recipients for their commitment to community, leadership and service. Six nominees were honored for their accomplishments, including David Saleh, who is the vice president of the Student Government Association, and Cush Cuthbertson, who is a staff member at the Titan Success Center. Saleh and Cuthbertson were both commended for their contributions to student success. Saleh advocated for student needs, while Cuthbertson provided mentorship to help students accomplish their academic goals. The event, which briefly preceded Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, emphasized the importance of equality and service.
Affinity, women’s grant applications open now

Students and community members with ideas for initiatives advancing diversity and inclusivity at IU South Bend or IU in general are encouraged to apply for a 2025 Affinity Giving Grant. Grants support projects including enrichment, research, outreach and more, and applications are due Feb. 2. Find the application at iufoundation.iu.edu/leadership-giving/best-practices. Applications for Women of IU South Bend Grants are also open now until Jan. 31 and will award up to $2,500 for proposals designed to advance the university and the region.
