On Nov. 13, the Student Government Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee hosted its third annual Latin Dance in the Grill, inviting students to learn a variety of Latin dance styles, including merengue and salsa, and enjoy Mexican and South American foods.
Multiple affinity groups and other student organizations sponsored the event, including the Asian Student Union, International Student Organization, Honors Program and Latino Student Union.
Senator Dhruval Chaudhari, chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, remarked on the success of the event.
“The Latin Dance has been hosted every year for the past three years as a part of these organizations coming together,” Chaudhari said. “We offer food, enjoy the evening and have fun while celebrating the cultures of each member of our community.”
As the event concluded, Chaudhari reflected on the importance of such celebrations, especially during a stressful time in the semester.
“It’s a way to bring people together and celebrate what makes us unique while finding common ground through fun and shared experiences,” she said.
