The River City Rollers have been around for years in our area, but they have now come to IU South Bend. On Nov. 9, they had a 4 v. 4 tournament, their first campus event, in collaboration with an IU South Bend student, David Munoz.
Every Thursday, the Rollers have practice from 7-9 p.m in the Student Activities Center.
“Anybody can come,” David Munoz said. “Doesn’t matter the age or anything”.
The purpose of the event was to support the community and bring people from all different backgrounds together and enjoy some wheelchair basketball. Munoz hopes to organize a “March Madness” event in the future with the same purpose of bringing everyone together to advocate for the disabled community.
