The South Bend Civic Theater plans to host Michiana Playmakers’ first production since COVID-19 quarantine: the Sherlock Holmes series. The shows will be staged readings, taking place on Sept. 6, 13 and 20 in the Civic’s Wilson Auditorium. The shows, while not fully based on any of Arther Conan Doyle’s works, feature the same zany characters and puzzling mysteries.
The titular Sherlock Holmes is played by Tucker Curtis while his witty side-kick, Dr. John Watson, is played by Bill Svelmoe. Under the direction of the aptly named Mark Moriarty – no relation to the Sherlock character James Moriarty – the Sherlock Holmes series is a great way to spend your next few Fridays if you enjoy supporting local theater.
Tickets are $20, but The Civic offers a significant deal for anyone who wishes to become a “detective in training” and attend all three shows, asking $45 for the bundle. This deal is only available until opening night (Sept. 6). You can redeem the bundle at the box office in person, over the phone, or by clicking the link in the description of each show on the South Bend Civic website.
